Nigel Van Hemmye (“Nydge”) is a pop producer and songwriter from Detroit, MI.

He was born in a hospital, and despite being named after a racecar driver, he drives a reliable Honda Civic. He likes plants, but all of his plants are dead and he feels bad about it. He knows more about synthesizers than he does about microeconomics. Like most of America, he dropped out of community college.

Between the tracks he’s released as Nydge and those he’s produced for others, Nigel’s songs have accounted for over 4.5 million streams since summer 2017. His work is consistently found on Spotify’s Young & Free, Indie-Pop, or Alternative R&B playlists, and he’s played it live alongside the likes of BANKS, SG Lewis, and Quinn XCII. He co-produced a song ("Real Love” by Flint Eastwood) that sat at #1 at Triple J Radio in Australia all of August 2018. Indie Shuffle once called him “rare gem from Detroit, some wonderful collision of atoms. Straight chemical; the perfect high.” He’s placed and composed custom songs for TV, film, and ads, with placements ranging from Ford Mustang commercials to ABC Shows, ESPN campaigns and Hulu trailers.

As a producer/songwriter, Nigel loves helping artists realize their unique sonic vision but keeps an ear for the qualities that make songs timeless and widely impactful.
